RackLog Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 8, 2026

Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Verilune ("we", "our", or "us") handles information when you use RackLog, our climbing gear tracking application for iOS and watchOS (Apple Watch companion).

Data Collection

RackLog is designed to store your gear records on your device. Verilune does not sell your personal information and does not use advertising SDKs in RackLog.

What the app stores for functionality:

  • Gear pieces, racks, manufacture and purchase dates, use counts, inspection and retirement records
  • Photos you attach to pieces or inspections
  • Hangtag / label scan results processed on device
  • PDF Gear Book exports you generate
  • Unlock Full Inventory purchase entitlement status (managed with Apple StoreKit)
  • App preferences and notification settings

What we do not collect or use:

  • Google AdMob or any third-party advertising SDK
  • Advertising IDs for ads
  • Verilune analytics SDKs that track your climbing activity
  • Verilune user accounts or Verilune-hosted cloud storage of your gear database
  • Server-side certification or safety scoring of your gear

If you contact us for support by email or the support form, we retain the content of that message so we can respond.

Local Data Storage

RackLog stores gear inventory, inspection history, photos, and settings on your iPhone. If you use iCloud device backup, Apple may include app data in backups you control. Exported PDF Gear Books are shared through the standard iOS share sheet — you choose the recipient.

Camera and On-Device OCR

RackLog requests camera access to scan hangtags and labels. Image analysis runs on device to suggest serial, brand, model, and date fields. Verilune does not receive your camera images for hangtag scanning unless you separately contact us with attachments for support.

Apple Watch

The RackLog Watch app displays due counts and lets you log sessions against your active rack. Data syncs between your Watch and iPhone using Apple system frameworks. Detailed editing and photos remain on iPhone.

HealthKit (Optional)

If enabled in a future version, RackLog may read climbing workout data from HealthKit on your device to suggest use logging. Health data is not sent to Verilune servers. You can revoke HealthKit access in the Health app at any time.

Third-Party Services

RackLog does not use Google AdMob or third-party advertising networks.

The app uses Apple system services, including:

  • StoreKit: Processes Unlock Full Inventory purchase and restore
  • Vision / on-device models: Hangtag and label text recognition on device
  • WatchConnectivity: Syncs session logs and due counts with Apple Watch
  • UserNotifications: Optional inspect and retire reminders you configure

App Store and Apple Services

When you download RackLog from the App Store or purchase Unlock Full Inventory, Apple may collect certain information as described in Apple's Privacy Policy. Verilune does not receive your payment card details.

Data Security

Keep your device software up to date and use a passcode or biometric lock. Your gear records stay on your Apple devices unless you export or share them yourself.

Children's Privacy

RackLog does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Parents who believe a child has contacted us by email may request deletion of that correspondence at support@verilune.com.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
